About the role We require an enthusiastic Site Manager that is hands on who can oversee the supervision and direction of the project on site, providing direct support to the Main Contractor on behalf of the Client. Critical to this role is the ability to coordinate on site programme requirements across all trades while ensuring the site and allow occupants remain safe. The Site Manager will be the first point of contact for site operations, making safety inspections, coordination of construction workers, maintaining quality control procedures, finding ways to prevent problems and to solve any that crop up.
About you
- Must have previous experience in managing residential construction sites
- Knowledge of building methods and materials
- Skill interpreting drawings and architectural plans
- An understanding of building standards
- A strong understanding in site safety standards including valid Gold site Safety card holder
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures and leadership in this area
- Knowledge of cost control and purchasing
- An understanding of quality control systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to motivate others
- Good decision making ability
- Good administrative and business skills including use of construction related software
- Professional and confident in interactions including preparation of fortnightly site reports, tool box talks, site induction procedures
- Strong programme management and coordination
- Keen problem solving skills throughout the building stage
- Ability to remain calm under pressure with flexibility to meet changing demands
